Brower Commons, Rutgers University

This is a 1,000-seat dining hall at Rutgers University in New Jersey. The existing lighting (shown in the first image) consumed 70 kW of electricity. This was an incredibly drab institutional space.

In the subsequent images, you'll see the large custom fixture I designed as caps for the 12 columns.  This resulted in a 42 kW reduction in energy use while doubling the light levels.

This project won an Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) award that highlighted the 70% energy reduction.
